Before breeding your bitch there are many things to think about: should you health check? which health checks are relevant to your dog? what can go wrong? have you got a back-up plan for any puppies you may not have sold at 8 weeks?

Below are a few articles and some more information about various health checks and schemes.

Remember that if you have anymore questions about breeding your bitch, health checks and choosing a stud dog, you're always very welcome to get in touch!

As we know that you - the owner of the bitch - has spend a lot of time to find a stud dog you like, we think that the least we can do is to make sure that our stud dogs have all proven themselves in the shooting field before being offered at stud.

All dogs offered at stud have done a minimum of one full shooting season (average of 65 days), have been used for walked-up and as peg dogs as well as having had all relevante breed related health checks done.

We are certain that you - the owner of the bitch - have equally high standards so please have your bitch hip scored under the BVA scheme as well as a BVA eye certificate less than 12 months old before you bring her here.

The Service includes two matings - under normal circumstances this would be where a 'tie' has been obtained on both occasions. Should your bitch for some reason not conceive, you're offered to bring back your bitch free of charge during her next season.
